Changing My Status
When you sign in with iChat AV, the program notifies buddies currently online from your Buddy list that you are available to chat. While you're signed in, you might need to leave your computer for a meeting or lunch. Instead of signing out, you can change your online status to let your buddies know that you're busy, away from your desk, on the phone, or out to lunch. When your away, your buddies see that you're idle, including the length of time since you last used your computer, and any message you receive is waiting for you. If you don't want your buddies to see or send messages to you, you can go offline. You can quickly customize your status messages to suit your own needs and circumstances.
