Starting Mail

Whether you want to exchange e-mail with colleagues and friends or join newsgroups to trade ideas and information, Mail provides you with all the tools you need. When you install Mac OS X Panther, an icon for Mail appears in the Dock. As you receive e-mail messages with the Mail application open or hidden, the Mail icon in the Dock tells you how many new messages are in your Inbox. The first time you start Mail, you need to set up an e-mail account by answering a few step-by-step questions.
