Using Internet Connect
Instead of performing separate tasks to change a network port configuration in the Network Preferences pane and connect to the Internet, you can use the Internet Connect application to perform both tasks at the same time. The Internet Connect application makes it easy to quickly log into different configurations in your current location for dial-up modem, ethernet, and AirPort connections. For an AirPort connection, the Internet Connect application also displays a readout of the wireless signal strength, the base station id you are connected to, and the status of the connection.
