Where Did They Go?

If you are familiar with Mac OS 9, you may be wondering what happened to a few system utilities, such as Control Panels, Control Strip, Chooser, and the System Folder. Instead of Control Panels, Mac OS X consolidates all of you computer settings into System Preferences. Instead of the Control Strip, Mac OS X uses menu status icons on the right side of the menu bar, which you can turn on and off using preference icons in System Preferences. Chooser settings are available in the Print & Fax pane in System Preferences and the Printer Setup Utility is in the Utilities folder.
