Customizing the Sidebar
In addition to the predefined items in the Sidebar (
), you can add your own items, including folders, documents, and Web Internet Location files, to name a few. When you click a volume or folder in the Sidebar, the Finder displays its contents in the window. When you click an application, document, or Web Internet Location file, the item opens in its own application window. If you accidentally remove a Sidebar icon, you can't undo it, but you can redisplay Mac OS X specific items using Finder Preferences. Unfortunately, you have to recreate the ones you added.
