Using Menus for Quick Results
The Finder uses several different types of menus to help you use the commands you need to get the results you want. The Finder uses four types of menus: pull-down, submenu, pop-up, and contextual. The pull down menu appears on the menu bar when you click a menu name or status icon in the menu status area. A submenu appears when you point to a menu with a triangle. A pop-up menu appears in a window or dialog when you click the double arrow. A contextual menu appears when you hold down the Control key while you click an item, such as an icon, text, or graphic.
