Adding a Sense of Place to Help Items Sell

At times, you will want to get out of the house—or at least away from the plain white background—and photograph items in a location that will help them sell. Showing the environment where the item will be used can make a difference. For example, consider photographing outdoor gear outdoors where it will be used. You can still make the images pop and minimize the background using a shallow depth of field and the right focal length.
