Back Up the Farm
A farm backup is the most holistic form of backup that SharePoint supports. When you run a farm backup, SharePoint coordinates the backup with farm servers to ensure you get a consistent and consolidated backup. There are four primary types of farm backups that can be taken, and each is described in subsequent sections:
- Complete farm backup
- Differential farm backup
- Configuration-only backup
- Component-level backup
