ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

This book has pretty much birthed itself, through an amazing series of synchronicities. Our book proposal to Berrett-Koehler would have passed as silently as another ship-in-the-night had Neal Maillet not been in the audience of Nilima’s workshop (on Presence) at the Conscious Capitalism Conference organized by Raj at Bentley University in Boston some years ago. Neal was looking for compelling new ideas in the leadership space and was sufficiently impressed then to now want to hear what we had to say. Before we knew it, we had a contract for a book with “Shakti” as the main theme. Neal has been a warm and supportive presence in our lives ever since as our editor, and we are immensely grateful to him.
