The Perfect Blend coffee shop in Roseville is usually pretty empty at 6:30 in the morning. Traffic begins to pick up after 7:00—business people on their way to work, a couple stopping by after their morning walk, and others just stopping in to use the free Internet service. With inside and outside patio seating, there’s always room for a small, casual or confidential meeting.

This has become a monthly ritual—the four of us meeting for coffee on the third Thursday of each month. Our personal friendship has made this a monthly commitment. It’s quite unusual when one of us misses this rendezvous.
