Redis is capable of running on most flavors of Linux, BSD (Berkley Software Distribution), and macOS X. It is not recommended to run Redis on Windows. Microsoft has been supported a 64-bit port (still open source) of Redis. But at the time of writing this (February 2018), it has been several months since the last pull request and more than a year since the last release. In short, the Windows port does not appear to be actively maintained, so use it with caution.
