Like a lot of developers, I got my first introduction to Ruby through Rails. I got on board just as Rails was hitting 1.0, and I loved it. There was no other language or platform like it (that I knew of). Building web apps with Rails was a little spooky, in fact. It was a little too easy. It was hard to trust something that worked with so little coding. Everything that worked well about Rails was certainly due to the Rails team’s creativity, innovation, and dedication to simplicity. All of that innovation and simplicity was made possible by Ruby.
