Chapter 2Mobile Web

I spend most of my mobile-app programming time in native technologies, but like many of you, my roots are in web development. I remember building my first web page when I was in high school, circa 1993. I called it Das Hofbrauhaus, I guess because I thought it sounded cool. It had a sweet textured background, a picture of Bilbo Baggins from the Rankin/Bass Hobbit cartoon, and JavaScript to randomly change the status-bar message. I can’t honestly tell you that there were no blink tags in use.
