TOOLS AND TEST EQUIPMENT

The precise collection of tools and test equipment will, of course, depend on the extent of your sphere of activity. If you do not repair outside kit, dishes, etc., there is little likelihood that you will need spanners and ladders! Conversely, if repairing receivers, it is very likely that you will also be working on other consumer electronics such as TV and audio and so be using much common equipment.

Hand tools

Musts are a selection of screwdrivers from the smallest jeweller’s sizes up to heavy duty, long shaft versions (e.g. no. 3 cross-heads). Trimming tools (insulated) are also necessary.
