The host.json file

The host.json file is the metadata file defining the configuration settings for your entire Functions App (as opposed to a specific function). This is the file that we saw in the D:\home\site\wwwroot directory in Chapter 2, Getting Started with Azure Environment.

At the moment, our host.json file is empty. We will elaborate more on the kinds of settings that will be defined here in Chapter 4, Configuring Endpoints, Triggers, Bindings and Scheduling.
