A lot of people are calling your customers to sell products, but very few people are thanking their customers for their business. For that matter, thank-yous seem to be falling out of our interactions altogether these days. For this reason, if for no other, you should offer appreciation to differentiate yourself. Your customer may just show his or her gratitude for the affirmation with a purchase order or a referral.

For an existing customer, the best opener might very well be a thank-you.
