Selling on the Amazon marketplace is a lot like selling on eBay’s Half.com. Your business identity takes a backseat to the items you sell and the price you sell them for.

The good thing about selling on Amazon is that you don’t have to do a thing to drive customers to your listings; Amazon does all that work for you. If a customer is looking for a particular product, Amazon makes sure she finds it. It’s what happens next that you can affect—whether a customer clicks through and purchases the item from you, from a competing third-party seller, or from Amazon itself.
