Chapter 51. The Gift Purchase

When a customer comes to purchase a gift, the Sales Ambassador uses a very specific approach:

  • "Thank you for thinking of us for this gift! Please, tell me more about the occasion."

Why start by thanking them for coming? Any brand should feel honored about being considered as a source for a gift. Discovering the occasion in a discreet and warm way adds value to the contact and opens the door to appropriate suggestions.

In talking about the occasion, the Sales Ambassador is also informed about who will be receiving the gift and when. With the next questions asked, the Sales Ambassador should find out as much as possible about this person's tastes, the pieces she already owns, and when the gift would be worn or used. Again, important information can help with the proposal.

Before proposing anything, thank the customer for choosing your brand.
