When you obtain a collectible that you intend to resell, in most cases you have a little work to do before you can put that item up for auction. Few collectibles arrive in your hands in pristine condition, ready to be sold.
When you're selling collectibles, know that serious collectors have different—and higher—expectations than the general public. Whatever you collect, you'll need to clean it up and get it into a presentable condition. If you're familiar with a given type of collectible, you'll know what that involves, whether that's liberal use of soap and water, or something more extreme.
