An Interview with Glenn Hubbard About His Time in the White House

NAVARRO: Hello, Glenn.

I want to talk with you today mostly about your experiences in the White House, and I want to just start by exploring some of the circumstances as to how you were actually appointed as Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers. For example, when did you first meet President George W. Bush? Did you help him as an economic advisor on his campaign in 2000? Or did you come into contact with him some other way?

HUBBARD: I worked with then-Governor Bush on his presidential campaign really from the beginning. I met him in late 1998 before the campaign and then worked with him throughout his campaign.
