Description of the Path to Certification
The Security+ exam is numbered SY0-101. The closed-book exam provides a valid and reliable measure of your technical proficiency and expertise. Developed in consultation with computer-industry professionals who have networking, TCP/IP, security, and cryptography experience in the workplace, the exams are conducted by Virtual University Enterprises (VUE), the electronic testing division of NCS Pearson as well as by Thomson Prometric.
VUE has more than 2,500 authorized testing centers serving more than 100 countries.
The exam prices vary depending on your CompTIA member status:
CompTIA members: $175 each
Non-CompTIA members: $225 each
