Troubleshooting

Although not likely, if you power up your ASA/PIX security appliance for the first time and it hangs and reports an error that hardware cards were not found, follow these steps:

Step 1.
Power down your ASA/PIX Security Appliance.
Step 2.
Remove the cover as instructed by the hardware installation instructions. Remember to use ESD grounding before you handle the internal cards.
Step 3.
Reseat any removable network interface cards or memory cards.
Step 4.
Replace the cover as instructed by the hardware installation instructions.
Step 5.
Turn the power back on the ASA/PIX Security Appliance.
