Authentication Enhancements

The enhancements for authentication have all been in the area of authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) support and include the following:

  • Simultaneous RADIUS accounting servers

  • Authentication and accounting for management

Simultaneous RADIUS Accounting Servers

ASA/PIX version 7 has a new feature that allows you to send RADIUS accounting data to more than one server at a time. This feature ensures that if a RADIUS server does goes down, you still have complete accounting records on the machine that has remained working.

You configure this feature through the ASDM panel, as follows:

Configuration > Features > Properties > AAA Setup > AAA Server Groups > Add
