Securing of the data doesn’t end with the Windows server which runs the SQL Server service. It also includes properly securing the storage array and the storage area network (SAN). Because each storage array and switch vendor does things differently, this chapter talks only about basic concepts instead of providing specific walk through information for specific platforms.
