Configuring Syslog

Before CBAC can send messages to a syslog server, you need to issue at least one command. First, you need to turn on logging if it is not enabled. However, by default, logging is enabled to all supported destinations other than the console.

Use the following command to turn on logging:

Router(config)# logging on

Second, to send messages to a syslog server, use the following command:

Router(config)# logging ip_address

For example, to configure a syslog server at the IP address of 1.1.1.1, the command is

Router(config)# logging 1.1.1.1
