56. The Saturday Knights

TSK burst onto the scene as an exuberant trio—Tilson, Barfly (Jeff Newton), and DJ Suspence (Spencer Manio)—that fused hip-hop, party, punk, and pop music in ways never before seen, heard, or experienced. Their debut album, Mingle, featured guest appearances from legendary Seattle musicians (Chris Ballew, Kim Thayil, and others) and garnered broad critical acclaim, ultimately going head to head for Seattle’s album of the year against powerhouse indie rockers Band of Horses. Although TSK recently called it quits, each artist has launched into unique directions that are already resurfacing anew.
