What Search Will Bring Us

The idea that I can talk to my Martian-branded Watch—say, ask it a question about a football player—and have it relay all the information I want back to me in an easy-to-understand voice is as old as science fiction, yet the ability to do that seems trivial today. Search, in my opinion, offers us superpowers the potential of which we are just barely able to comprehend.

As we’ve seen, search can be and do so much more than answer trivial questions. Machine and device-level intelligence will eventually stitch together data about everything in the world in a way that clarifies for us the action we should take in a given situation.
