24. The OpenDaylight Project

The OpenDaylight (ODL) project was initiated in 2013 when The Linux Foundation (TLF) announced the funding of a community-led SDN open source framework. One of the more interesting aspects of this project kickoff was that the founding members consisted of some of the heavyweight vendors such as IBM, Cisco, HP, Big Switch Networks, Arista Networks, Microsoft, Brocade, and Juniper, among others.
