Looking at the Editor in Page View

To make the Editor appear more like a printed page, including document edges and margins, choose View⇒Page View⇒Show Page View.

Want to see two pages side by side? After you turn on Page view, choose View⇒Page View⇒Two Pages Across.

Just remember, Page view isn’t necessarily an accurate representation of how pages will print; it’s merely a visual preference. The final layout of your output depends on your compile settings (see Part IV for details on compiling).

To turn off Page view, choose View⇒Page View⇒Hide Page View.

tip.eps For scriptwriters who tend to compile based on the settings in the Editor, Page View is especially handy because it can provide a page count that’s fairly close to the final output. To set it up, after you turn on Page View, choose View⇒Page View⇒Use Printed Page Size. The Editor footer displays the estimated page number and total pages for the document(s) being viewed in the Editor, based on the page size and margin settings available by choosing File⇒Page Setup (select Scrivener from the Settings drop-down list to change the margins).
