Setting Up Scripts for Export

If you’re exporting a screenplay or script for use in Final Draft 8 (.fdx) and the first document is a title page without script formatting, you can assign the document to Final Draft’s Title Page window, keeping it separate the from the rest of the script. Just click the Script Settings tab, and then select First Document Is Title Page.

tip.eps If you’re not using a title page and the first page of your script is missing when you open the FDX file in Final Draft, deselect this option.

You can convert inline and linked footnotes, as well as inline annotations and linked comments, to Final Draft 8 script notes. If you don’t convert them, they’re stripped from the compiled document. Simply select an option in the Script Settings tab to specify the conversion:
