Setting Up Automatic Snapshots

If you want save the day’s changes after each writing session, the Automatic Snapshots feature is for you. You can set up Scrivener to automatically take a snapshot of all changed documents every time you manually save your project.

Follow the steps below to automate snapshots:

1. Choose ScrivenerPreferences.

The Preferences window appears.

2. Click the General button at the top of the window to view the General options.

3. In the Saving section, select the Take Snapshots of Changed Text Documents on Manual Save check box.

Now, whenever you manually save the project — either by choosing File⇒Save or pressing +S — Scrivener takes a snapshot called Untitled (Save) for each changed text document.
