Lesson 3. Gas Pump, Lake Tahoe, Nevada

This is a shot taken by my buddy Dave Moser after an early morning shoot at a photo workshop in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Dave had seen this old gas pump behind the Ranger Station earlier that day, but now since the light was already bad, he wasn’t going to shoot it (but did anyway). When he saw the photo later, he wished he had shot at f/2.8 or f/4 to blur the background and make the gas pump stand out, and he wished he had shot it earlier to get warmer light and the more saturated colors that were there when he first saw it just after dawn.
