6.1 Approach to propagation analysis

This chapter develops a model of signal propagation that is derived both from the underlying physics and from various empirical measurements and estimation processes (Figure 6.1). This will provide the ability to estimate the effect of propagation both on the intended signal path and on the possible interference paths. In contrast, most communications analysis focuses on the communications path, whereas the analysis of interference effects will focus primarily on the interference path.
