Chapter 8 Creating Wealth
We set off at dawn, the dew still damp on the lawn and a clear sky brightening overhead. Julia was there to snap a picture and wave goodbye, doing so until we rounded the corner and disappeared from sight. My loose itinerary was to visit a college roommate in Chicago, see a few historical sites in the Rockies, and arrive at the summer cabin in the Sierras by early August. Despite my misgivings about having a passenger along, the trip would go quicker with someone to share the monotony. Once in California, I'd deposit Harold with his sister and enjoy the solitude of Yosemite by myself. I thought of little more than adding distance from my empty home.
