Understanding Third-Party Formatted Destinations

Third-party formatted destinations enable you to apply styles to the output objects that are used by applications other than SAS. For example, these destinations support attributes such as “font” and “color.” The three third-party formatted destinations are

HTML destination

The HTML destination produces HTML output for online viewing. HTML output can also be produced with the MARKUP destination.

MARKUP destination

The MARKUP destination produces SAS output that is formatted using one of many different markup languages, including XML and HTML. The output type is determined by the tagset you specify. You can use a tagset that SAS supplies, or you can create your own with PROC TEMPLATE.
