FORMCHAR= 'formatting-characters'

specifies the formatting
characters for your output device. Formatting characters are used
to construct the outlines of tables as well as dividers for various
procedures, such as the FREQ and TABULATE procedures. If you do not
specify formatting characters as an option in the procedure, then
the default specifications given in the FORMCHAR= system option are
used.
