characteristics of SAS programs, including how they reference SAS
data sets. Data sets are one type of SAS file. There are other
types of SAS files (such as catalogs), but this chapter focuses on
SAS data sets. For most procedures, data must be in the form of a
SAS data set to be processed. Now let's take a closer look at SAS
data sets.
