1. The key difference between best practices and common practices is cost. Few companies spend the money required to adopt and maintain best practices, whether business related, technology related, or otherwise, simply because best practices are comparatively expensive. Often, an approach that approximates “good enough” provides a better balance of cost and capabilities to an organization.
