The first part of this chapter covers the operating systems and database platforms supported by the mySAP.com components. The intention is to briefly describe which platform combinations are supported by the various mySAP.com components without making detailed comparisons of the various OS and database platforms.
The second part introduces some of the common server technologies deployed for SAP systems. This explores what hardware components servers are made of, including processors, system and I/O buses, and memory architectures, and what they mean for SAP system configurations.
