Configuration Tool (Config Tool)

The config tool connects to the database, scans the configuration information, and presents it in either a graphical user interface or a text interface. The config tool is XML-based and therefore allows an administrator to export and import all the system configuration parameters. It connects directly to the database and, therefore, does not need the Java engine to be running for its use. The config tool does not ask for a user name and password when logging into the tool. It just needs the operating system <sid>adm account user access to start the tool.

Starting the Config Tool

In order to start the configuration tool, log in as the <sid>adm user account at the operating system level, and go to the /usr/sap/<SID>/JC<SNo>/j2ee/configtool ...
