SAP Installation Options in NW 7.0–Based Systems
When installing NW 7.0–based systems, the following three options are available.
Central System Installation
In this install option, the SAP central instance and database instance are installed on the same host. This option is recommended for small installations and development and test systems.
Distributed System Installation
In this install option, the SAP central instance and the database instance are installed on two different hosts. This option is recommended for production systems.
High-Availability System Installation
In this install option, the SAP software is configured in a switchover group using high-availability software, such as Service Guard, provided by external vendors.
