The multipathing software manages the many paths that are available to the VDisk and presents a single storage device to the operating system. 10.2.1 Preferred path algorithm I/ O traffic for a particular VDisk is, at any one time, managed exclusively by the nodes in a single I/ O Group. The distributed cache in the SAN Volume Controller is two- way. When a VDisk is created, a preferred node is chosen. This is controllable at the time of creation. The owner node for a VDisk is the preferred node when both nodes are available.
