  • Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)— An symmetric encryption algorithm based on DES that supports key lengths of 128, 192, and 256 bits.

  • Asymmetric encryption Encryption that uses different keys for encryption and decryption.

  • Blowfish A symmetric encryption algorithm that supports key lengths of up to 448 bits.

  • Certificate authority (CA)— A central authority that oversees the certificate creation and delivery process.

  • Data Encryption Standard (DES) A symmetric encryption algorithm that was once popular but is now considered insecure due to the small 56-bit key length.
