Review the following list of key terms:

  • Blacklist— A list of servers that aren’t allowed to forward mail messages to the domain.

  • Email body— The section of an email message that includes the text of the message.

  • Email header— The preliminary section of an email message, consisting of informational fields and associated values.

  • Email reader A client email application that is responsible for sending mail, retrieving mail, and managing the user interface through which the user interacts with the mail system.

  • Email virus A software virus propagated as an attachment to an email message.

  • Graylisting A system for detecting spam servers by rejecting the initial delivery and waiting to see if the server resends the message.
