In the past hour, you were introduced to the primary design tool for building applications in Cocoa: Interface Builder. You saw all the different inspectors and libraries.

In this hour, we tour all the basic controls and the default layout system, typically referred to as “springs and struts.” After the tour of basic controls, you’ll see a new layout system that is available only on Mac OS X Lion: Automatic Layout.
