Q. The Managed Metadata Service is showing an error indicating “The Managed Metadata Service or Connection is currently not available. The Application Pool or Managed Metadata Web Service may not have been started. Please Contact your Administrator.”
A. Make sure that the Managed Metadata Web Service is started by going to Manage Services on Server page in Application Management or you will get that error.
Q. The User Profile service application is throwing an unexpected error even after starting the User Profile Synchronization Service.
A. You need to run iisreset after starting the User Profile Synchronization Service.
