Summary

This hour explored some of the enterprise content management features offered by SharePoint. The hour started with an introduction to the concept of ECM. Next you learned about the Document ID Service available in SharePoint, which helps you generate document IDs to uniquely identify documents regardless of their location. You also learned about document sets and how they help users to treat a group of related documents as a single entity. Then Managed Metadata Services were discussed, and you learned about the concept of managed terms and enterprise keywords. Finally the hour concluded by exploring the idea of content type publishing hubs, using content types that can now be shared across site collections.
