Understanding Filters

You don’t always want to track all the traffic coming to your website. You may want to not track internal traffic, for example, or visitors coming from a particular site to yours.

For that matter, you may not want to track all the pages on your site. Perhaps some pages are more important to you than others; maybe you simply want to exclude traffic going to a particular directory or subdomain.

In these instances, you want to filter the data tracked by Google Analytics. You do this by creating a filter that automatically excludes data based on your specific parameters.
