Understanding the Site Overlay

Most of Google Analytics reports are text-based in nature, sometimes accompanied by a line graph. But there’s one report that’s much more visual—in fact, it overlays its data on your own web pages.

The Site Overlay report, as the name implies, consists of data overlaid on your web pages. This data details the number of clicks each link on your page receives; you navigate your page as a regular visitor would, and then you discover how popular each page you link to is.
