Hour 17. ABAP Dictionary and Repository
In Hour 3, “Database Basics,” you learned all about databases and how multiple tables store data that is related to data in other tables, making for a large relational database management system (RDBMS). In this hour, I take it a step further and show you the way in which SAP’s database tables are arranged, followed by a closer look at SAP’s Repository Information System or repository, which is a tool used in retrieving information relative to the objects in your SAP ABAP/4 Dictionary. I will discuss the features and functions of the Repository Information System, and you will learn why it is a useful tool in searching for information in your ABAP/4 Dictionary.
